9628 1�ain Solway self-closing non-concussive
flushvalve in gunmetal for salt water, for fixing
behind bulkhead, bulkhead flange, inlet and outlet
screwed 1'/2in BSP male. Exposed parts

In the case of 9441 and 9628 valves the bulkhead flange and Fig. 1 Fig. 2
the operating lever are interchangeable so that the inlet may be
at right or left hand facing as required. Fig. 1 shows release and main valve at rest. Arrows indicate
water on pressure side of valve and direction of pressure

The small lever which operates the valve requires very little Fig. 2 shows release valve also main valve off seating in open

Positive in Action
The Solway does not depend on water pressure to lift the vaive
off its seating, as the operating lever is in direct contact with the
spindle and controls the lifting of the valve.
Water Waste Preventer
The Solway prevents undue waste of water, but ensures that
the flush can be prolonged if required by merely keeping the
operating lever pressed. Waste of water is prevented by the
valve starting to close on seating immediately the operating
lever is released.
Water Pressures
The Solway will give a satisfactory flush on any maintained
pressure between 5ibs and 60lbs per square inch.
Important Note
The smail bypass hole in the piston assembly must be kept
clear and not allowed to become clogged.
