Aramid and Synthetic Cordage

High-modulus aramid (Kevlar®, Twaron®), nylon, polyester, polypropylene, and HMPE (Dyneema®/Spectra®) rope for mooring, towing, lifting, and rescue applications where steel is too heavy or non-magnetic alternatives are required.

Aramid and Synthetic Cordage — page 1 of the Dibblee Industries catalog (W.J. Keating, 1940–)
Page 298 — original catalog

Synthetic cordage in aramid, nylon, polyester, polypropylene, and HMPE constructions for marine mooring, naval mine-counter-measures, towing, rescue, and overhead lifting where weight, dielectric properties, or non-magnetic behaviour matter. Available in single-braid, double-braid, and 8-strand constructions across diameter ranges supporting working loads up to thousands of pounds.

Product types

  • Aramid (Kevlar®, Twaron®) high-modulus rope
  • HMPE (Dyneema®, Spectra®) rope
  • Nylon double-braid mooring lines
  • Polyester and polypropylene utility cordage
  • 8-strand and 12-strand braided constructions

Typical applications

  • Naval mooring (non-magnetic where required)
  • Mine-counter-measures vessels
  • Marine towing
  • Rescue and recovery
  • Overhead lifting where weight matters
