These blocks can be supplied with steel sheaves
3" to 30" and cast iron sheaves from 3" to 16".
They feature grooved bronze bushings and
tapered roller or ball bearings, both pressure
grease lubricated.
Figure 4155 swings horizontally on trunnions. The
lower trunnion is hollow and permits wire to pass
vertically through it, so that the wire remains in
the center line of the trunnions. Trunnions have
bronze or rolier thrust bearings, with pressure
grease lubrication.

Method of Reeving Manila and Wire Rope Blocks
The methods of reeving tackle blocks will vary
with the applications. With heavy lift cargo
booms, cranes and so forth, where blocks with
four sheaves or more are required, a number of
lead blocks have to be considered. The
engineering department will be
happy to assist on such applications.

Lineman's Snatch Block, 5022
This galvanized block is used for stringing light
conductor wire. The hook fits around the insulator
pin or in the insulator hole and can be readily
driven into a pole or cross arm. It is available
with or without the hook, with either bronze,
self-iubricating bushings or ball bearing
bushings with pressure grease lubrication.

The aerial hand line is used to transport Ring
tools and equipment to a man aloft. It consists of
one roller-bushed, galvanized metal block; two
snap hooks; one ring; two thimbles and one

angle corresponding to the lead of the wire. The
heat-treated, steel spring �reates enough friction

1. Cast steel with tapered (24" and larger) or
straight roller bearings (20" and smaller).
2. Cast steel with bronze bushing.
3. Cast steel finish-bored without bushing.
Heavy duty Sheaves are available in a
wide range of standard sizes from 8" to 36%"
outside diameters--for wire rope sizes from
7/16" to 1%". Grooves are precisely machined
to assure proper fit for the wire rope. When
ordering sheaves, be sure to specify type
wanted, wire rope size, and outside diameter.
